1) Sphynx

The Sphynx cat is also known as the Canadian Sphynx popularly famous for clean shave body. Hairlessness in cats is a naturally occurring genetic mutation.

These cats originated in Canada in the 1960. The sphynx was developed through crossbreeding with Shorthair cats to create a healthy, broad gene pool.

The Sphynx cat is known for her highly social, attention-loving, and inquisitive personality.

They are very vocal and also prone to heart ailments for which you have to take them to the vet for regular screening.

2) Peterbald 

This breed originated in Russia. It was created in St Petersburg in 1994 from an experimental breeding by Olga S. Mironova.

This cat breed falls in the very rare category of cats which are very loyal, its level of hair can range from absolutely none to a felt-like coating.

Some kittens have a fine, downy coat that they either shed or retain for life.

3) Minskin 

The Minskin is a breed of cat derived from intentional hybrid cross-breedings between the Munchkin and Burmese cat breeds, with the addition of Sphynx and Devon Rex.

These are short legged hairless cats who may have fine fur on their nose, legs and tail. They are very intelligent, playful and wonderful pets often described as exotic and alien-like.

They are sweet tempered and affectionate cats that are playful and not destructive at all.

The name “Minskin” is derived from a combination of the words “miniature” and “skin.”

4) Dwelf 

These are curly-eared, short legged hairless cat breed derived from Sphynx, American Curl and Munchkin stock. 

The name is derived from a combination of the words “dwarf” and “elf.”

It retains the curved ears of the Elf while getting the Munchkin’s super short legs. The breed is of US origin and is recognized by the Dwarf Cat Association.

They are highly affectionate and friendly with medium energy levels and a gentle disposition.

5) Donskoy 

The Donskoy cat, also known as Don Sphynx or Russian Hairless, is a hairless cat breed of Russian origin.

One interesting fact about this breed is they can grow coat in winters.

These cats are born with a hair coating, but gradually loses all of them as they grow up. These are much loved breeds due to their loyalty, playfulness and lovable nature.

Their size is around 7 to 12 inches and weigh around 8 to 15 pounds.

Life expectancy is around 12 years.

Sometimes described as “reminiscent of the aliens,” the Donskoy has very elastic skin with pronounced wrinkles.

6) Lykoi 

The Lykoi more often called wolf cat sometimes werewolf cat is a natural mutation from a domestic Shorthaired cat.

The breed was developed by Patti Thomas in Vonore, Tennessee. Lykos means ‘wolf’ in Greek.

These cats can be furry or partially hairless, lacking hair on their faces and ears, as well as their legs and feet.

This cat loves to stalk people and other animals.

Their height may vary from 7 to 10 inches while they weigh around 3 to 7 pounds.

7) Ukrainian Levkoy   

This is a cat breed of distinct appearance, having inward-folding ears and little to no hair.

They tend to be quite friendly, intelligent, and playful, and many can even get along well with other pets.

Only Ukrainian and Russian clubs have only recognized this, but not by any major, international cat fancier and breeder organizations.

Their height may vary from 8 to 10 inches while they weigh around 9 to 12 pounds.

Life expectancy is between 12 and 15 years.

Cost of Hairless Cat Breeds – Hairless cats can cost from $1500 to $3000, depending on the breed and your location.

Since they are purebred which is why they are quite expensive.

No hair does not mean that grooming is not required, you’ll need to give your cat weekly sponge baths to remove sebaceous oils from their skin.
